The International Carers Day 2026 was celebrated on October 28, 2026, in a solemn and festive atmosphere, organized by the SWID Carers Association. Like every year, this special day was observed to honor the invaluable contributions of carers dedicated to serving persons with special needs. This year's theme was— “From Recognition to Effective Action”. To mark the day, a special discussion and opinion-exchange meeting was organized at the office of the SWID Carers Association. Distinguished guests attended the event and provided strategic guidance on protecting the rights of carers: 1. Mr. Jawaherul Islam Mamun (Advisor, Carers Alliance Bangladesh & Mentor, SWID Bangladesh) 2. Mr. Md. Mahbubul Munir (President, Carers Alliance Bangladesh & Secretary General, SWID Bangladesh) The event was presided over by Ms. Rashida Jasmin Rosy, President of the SWID Carers Association and Cultural Secretary of SWID Bangladesh. Executive committee members of the SWID Carers Association and a large number of carers were also present. Key Discussions: Speakers emphasized the importance of establishing the mental, social, and economic rights and dignity of carers in society. They stated that mere recognition is no longer enough; the state and society must now take "effective actions" to improve the quality of life for carers.
