SWID Special Education Teachers’ Training College
About the College
The SWID Special Education Teachers’ Training College was established through the initiative and efforts of the Society for the Welfare of the Intellectually Disabled (SWID Bangladesh) to develop skilled professionals in the field of special education.
The college later obtained affiliation from the National University under Approval Memo No. 07(PRO-1-627) NU/ADHI/5007 dated 18 May 2006, with Affiliation Code No. 6573.
The institution provides professional training for teachers working with persons with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other neurodevelopmental disabilities. The main objective is to create qualified teachers and skilled manpower who can contribute to the development, education, and rehabilitation of persons with disabilities in Bangladesh.
All academic, administrative, and financial activities of the college are supervised and monitored by SWID Bangladesh.
History
